Program Overview


Barrier Removal Program for the Disabled is a program for Kansas City Homeowners in Jackson County who have physical disabilities. Available in Jackson County, Missouri Only.


Who is eligible for this program?


Must be physically disabled. Must have owned and occupied the home for a mimimum of one year, or be renting property with approval of the landlord. There are income guidelines for the program. Cannot have received services from the City's Barrier Removal Program in the last three years. Household income must be less than 80% of area median income. Program funds are used for the removal of obstacles within and around the home and to make homes more accessible to the disabled and handicapped.
