Program Overview


Kansas City Dream Program is a program provides qualified applicants with a forgivable loan of up to 20% of the sale price of the home (up to $20,000). 10% of the loan is forgiven each year for 10 years (as long as the property remains the buyers primary residence). No payments are due on this forgivable loan. Please contact Coleman McClain for specific details on approved neighborhoods in Kansas City.

Must meet income requirements and be a first time buyer or the equivalent. Maximum income by family size: 1 person -$40,500 2 people - $46,300 3 people - $52,100 4 people - $57,850 5 people - $62,500 6 people - $67,150 7 people - $71,750 8 people - $76,400

Property Eligibility Requirements


Must be in Target areas. Heart of the City, Truman, Swope all the lesser of 20% of purchase price or $20,000. Hickman/Ruskin, Downtown, Briarcliff/Winwood - lesser 20% of purchase price or $12,000. City-wide, outside of target area- lesser of 20% of purchase price or $8,000.

The sales price cannot exceed $ $150,000.

Assistance is in the form of a forgivable loan. It is completely forgiven after 10 years of residence. 20% of purchase price or $20,000 maximum
